Today after we had wanton noodles lunch (again), we headed for Wan Chai again, since we wanted to walk more of the place and know of it. Peter, who played soccer (sillily til past 1pm) wanted to go against his internal force and joined Ruiming (who decided to NOT do any sports today) and I (i ran!) to take the tram to Wan Chai.
But you see, after getting off the tram, he decided he better head back to the hostel since his head hurt from the sun. TSK. I distinctively double-triple confirmed with the boy if he really wanted to follow, BEFORE going.
Wan Chai has some export shops, many electronic stores - but I guess it could be where we were. I was looking for low-heeled (I NEVER ever thought I would have to succumb to this level. But I have to, cos there's really alot of walking and uphill in HK. SIGH, why?! Why do I have to do this?!) heels but was disappointed (expected, it's low-heeled shoes, sigh).
After doing some grocery shopping and buying dinner, Ruiming and I walked through Stanley St, I think, that sells many Halloween costumes. There's wigs of all colours (neon) and types (Elvis Presley), hats (viking), masks (werewolves), props (brooms), wands (fairy), costumes (Ninja turtle), etc.
Dinner was eaten in the boys' room since the 'kitchen' (more like a pantry) was being used by the other boys and they were terribly rowdy. Tonight seemed more hilarious than usual - Peter waking up to roomlight (and has gone back to sleep at 10pm), Ruiming's grand idea (with effects and visualisations) of having a Mass Comm epic movie that parallels the movie Armageddon (instead of sending people to stop a meteoroid, it's NP sending 6 students overseas), and this:
This is Peter, gayly admiring his hairy legs through skin-coloured pantyhose (which I had to get for Ruiming cos he wanted to 'test' his costume idea).
This is Ruiming, who has just bought a fedora hat for his costume-in-the-making and his last bought item from Wan Chai, a pellet gun - which is SUPER DANGEROUS I TELL YOU.
Stupid right? But yes, this is what you get with two of them in a hostel :)
I've shifted upstairs and it's much quieter now.
Looks pretty neat eh :) Will need to get the guys to help me bring up my locked luggage downstairs tomorrow though. Too heavy to bring up on my own! (EH you should see the other two girls'. One even had to call a moving company to DELIVER her stuff over and ORDERED ikea wardrobe to bring to the hostel. I am not THAT bad already!)
Oh and dont these sheets look familiar to home? :)
Luckily I brought (and with the insistence of my dad and da sao - thanks!) cos I have sent the other set for laundry.
Ah-ha, at night, I have my own full length mirror.
You should see how the two girls have turned the kitchen into.
No pictures as of then but they have already equipped the kitchen with a portable rice cooker and heater, rice, boiler and even 'packed' the fridge.
There's eggs, miraclewhip paste thing, Jolly Shandy, cheese, ham, toufu, sweet corn paste, chili, light sauce, jam, kiwi, apples, etc. I have only taken one part: apples, China li and wwei's Hello Kitty box of sweets :) - which Peter almost finished, wwei! :(
That's only the bottom.
I have no idea what else is in those plastic-wrapped things, but there's even ice cream! I cannot imagine if there were more girls in the hostel. They have practically taken property over the common fridge! Haha but they are nice girls la so it's ok :)
Well, English only relapses in between for words I cant recall are called what in mandarin and when they have no idea how to further explain whatever the thing they were telling me in mandarin!
I tell you ah, the toilets are cleaner here (maybe expected, since it's girls! haha) but you see, seriously, the workers must have had some ulterior motive when it was built.
This is the toilet. Don't ask me about the colour. They seem to keep liking this colour for toilets for some odd reason.
And the cubicle. Of course it's nothing looking like my pebbled-floor and multi-coloured-rungs one that Dad is currently using! :)
And my 'shelf' of items.
These are the hooks (assumingly for your clothes and items). Disclaimer: black scrungy and showercap not mine or theirs. OUTSIDE the shower curtain. Hoooooooooooow to take?So we have to make do with this. No my towel wasnt brought to match the colour of the walls.
There's only 2 other girls staying next door and I havent gotten knocks from anyone (usually the boys) who come by:
Can I borrow...(scissors or marker or toothpaste, etc.)?
Do you have tweezers?
Do you have one of those thin hairpin things? How do you use it?
I need your help, I can't add another row on Word.
I'm coming over to get a banana okay?
Are you going to bathe?
Come, come I show you this video, damn funny!
How do you iron a shirt, Huits?
Huits, can you help me cut this lock of hair?
Wha, he's damn high from drinking, is he ok? (HAHA)
We're gonna watch Across the Universe, you wanna come?
Peter's sleeping and there's no Internet. I'm bored.
etc.
See how interesting my life can be when I'm staying downstairs? :)
DAMNIT, I HAVE TO WALK FIVE LEVELS OF STAIRS NOW TO GET TO MY ROOM! *frown ok goodnight, have church tomorrow!
