Singapore food? (12 Oct)

We had to wake up SUPER early (7am) on a SUNDAY. Sigh. Since the groundsman wanted to leave at 7.30ish again. Peter slept a WHOLE lot the day before and he was 'late' this morning - which amazes Ruiming and I for a person who slept probably more than 10 hours the day before.

Anyway, the boys wanted Macs breakfast so I had a Sausage McMuffin with Egg (discipline has made me choose just the burger without the set!) and strolled (really slowly) before Peter and I made our way to church and Ruiming went to the HK Zoological & Botanical Gardens next door to the church.

Mass was pretty fine, with us still getting caught up watching the priest bless the long line of children during one section of the mass. They actually call up for children to line up to get blessings! This 10-year-old-looking boy was even carrying his not-yet-one-year sister up as well :)

Here's a pic of the cathedral from afar. There were too many cars to really walk nearer and get a clearer picture. Will do so next time! :) Too bad I can't take pictures inside, i think :/
After that we met Ruiming. The zoo is really not a zoo. It's like a park with animals. Free admission. But seriously, comparing our HUGEASS Singapore Zoo with this, we win it hands down. Come on, the 'Reptile House' has only 3 animals - two separated crocs in small ponds and a python that we cant even find. No pictures taken cos there is really no point taking any, really. Sorry, zoo.

At 12pm, cos of the early morning, we decided to head back to catch some rest (which turned all of us sleeping) afterawhile.

They getting hungry by 3.30pm, we found lunch at few streets down of Soho where we got HK$15 bowl of noodles with normal liao: 2 beef balls, 2 fish balls and 2 fishcake beancurd wraps. Jeremy met us soon after cos he ended work at 4pm.

After that it was just walking around Central: made a trip to H&M and also, managed (with Ruiming's help and patience and attempt to help choose) to get my FIRST pair of low-heeled shoes at an alley market:

Probably considered slightly overpriced at HK$59.90, but it's a few days worth of walking around trying to find ONE. It's not black either, but it's tolerable in shiny-grey.

Edit: the shoes gave blisters :(

THEN Peter and Jeremy suddenly had a craving for Singapore food, we took a tram alllllllll the way to Quarry Bay (Sigh, our workplace. On a Sunday. We're coming back here again in the morning leh) to find Food Republic in Cityplaza. By the speed of the tram, we took an hour-ish, reaching there at 8pm.

(By the way, I think it's the autumn thing; the nights come early and the day comes early too - super bright at 6.30am when you have no curtains in your room. Yes I currently have no curtains, but the windows face the next building's wall anyway.)

Both soccer players had HK$50 Chicken Rice, which looked pretty authentic: Rice, Soup, Sampan-looking plates of vegetables and chicken. Peter loved it, while Jeremy was scaring the locals sitting nearby with his dousing of garlic chili (which he loudly proclaimed his longing-for and made terrible disgusting orgasmic noises!) and was annoyed with the thin chicken.

I was pretty happy with the FIRST bah-hu (pork floss) bun I bought in HK from the newly opened BreadTalk there too :)

Sigh, yes the internet is still down and tomorrow is monday again! SIGH. Good luck with everyone's weeks then. Goodnight all, it's already 1.30am!
