I have a new roommate.
Ruiming had a bout of gastric and left early for home with Peter. A big fuss was up and they brought him to a clinic where he was given a one-day MC, but you see, he was pretty much ok by the time I came back in the evening. Reason: the Internet has returned. Haha so we think it's really just connection-down for him.
Anyway, he told me I had a new roommate and I was half dreading that it'll be a terribly messy person.
Well, she isn't that bad.
How I first met her? When the other two girls thought I was bathing (shower noises can be heard) and they came over to see my room: which already had the New Roommate's things in it and her luggage was riiiiiight in the middle of the room with other things sprawled on the table.
Well, she came out of the bathroom with all three of us standing at my doorway anticipating how she'd be.
She had a towel drying her long locks and in a red nightdress. She has really big eyes too! Haha well, she's from Hainan and she immediately invited the other two into the room to sit and talk abit. They got off really well, exchanging where they came from and she told everyone how she got so annoyed with custom-problems on the way here.
Her name is: Wei (Tail) Xiang (Scent).
Haha I must tell you something really hilarious. She thinks my mandarin is "hen pang". I kept telling her that I've always failed/scrapped through for my exams and had to emphasise that I know many people who knew how to speak very fluently. She sees it that if we can have a decent conversation is already not bad cos she feels terrible about herself not being able to speak English well.
It kinda makes me feel even more odd that I really should improve my mandarin. Cos can you imagine if she meets people like Melody, Candy, Jiawei, Chinaman (for those who do not know: Jia Hao) or Da Sao, Jessie, Siying, Lawrence and Tim? (See how many people I can instantly think of at this moment?) Goodness. She might think they are gods.
Well, by the time I finished reading the last few parts of papers in the guys' room and also cos Ivan called to talk to Ruiming and I, she was already asleep. I woke up earlier than her too. Well, her things are still in the middle of nowhere but at least we have established to not wear her shoes inside the room.
It does take a little getting used to, to sleep in a room with another person (someone new and still foreign) when I've been used to having the space.
Ok back to work, morning all :)
Edit 1pm: for some reason, today doesn't seem to have muccch HK news. Or mostly on financial stuff that I'm not currently doing. Even some man shot by a police has been done by another reporter. Sigh. I feel like a fisherman waiting by a lake and I can hear the toads and crickets all laughing at me.
